As anticipation builds for ‘Abi & Alan‘ – the eagerly awaited collaborative album from Erykah Badu and The Alchemist – fans are given a taste of what the project is set to serve courtesy of its first single ‘Next to You.’

“And I can’t wait to see you after school / Follow me and we gon’ break the rules / I can’t even fly / You’re the only one that gets me high,” she sings over a sample of 1999’s ‘The Realest‘ by Mobb Deep and Kool G Rap.

The June 20 arrival of ‘Next’ came just days before Al took to Instagram to announce the U.S. leg of the duo’s ‘Luv Iz…Tour.‘

Currently rocking stages in Japan, the international jaunt is expected to land Stateside by kicking off in Seattle on August 8.
