The GRAMMY Awards continue to evolve.
For, along with details about the forthcoming 2026 ceremony, the Recording Academy has announced a series of new categories.

Moments ago, it was confirmed that the GRAMMY Awards 2026 will take place on February 1, 2026 live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Nominations for Music’s Biggest Night will be unveiled on November 7, 2025.
That’s not all.
Two new categories have been added: Best Album Cover and Best Traditional Country Album.
Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, said in a statement:
“The Academy’s top priority is to represent the music people that we serve each year. That entails listening carefully to our members to make sure our rules and guidelines reflect today’s music and allow us to accurately recognize as many deserving creators as possible. As we kick off another exciting GRAMMY Season, we look forward to celebrating the amazing power of music and its ability to bring so many people together.”

Traditional Country Album….. I can see where this is going. Looks like another segregated move. God forbid black people start populating the category that has always existed.
Exactly! Too bad they didn’t think of that before Beyoncé made hers. I guess the Queen continues to shape the industry as always.
