Tensions were high in the courtroom this week as Judge Jesse M. Subramanian, who is presiding over Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial, delivered a warning to both the prosecution and the defense.
The judge demanded answers following the publication of a leaked article referencing sealed court proceedings in the high-profile case. The leak appears to violate the court’s strict gag order, prompting the judge to put everyone involved on notice.
Visibly frustrated, Judge Subramanian directly addressed Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey and lead defense attorney Marc Agnifilo, making it clear that any further breaches of court protocol would come with severe consequences.
“This is the only warning I will give.
Everyone here is on notice: if there is any further violation of this Court’s orders or the rules of conduct applicable to these proceedings, that violation will be met with a formal inquiry with people testifying under oath, the delivery of devices and communications to this Court for review, and possible civil or criminal sanctions. So don’t do it.”
All parties have now been warned, and next time, it looks like consequences won’t just be a possibility, they’ll be a reality.
