From ‘Wipe Me Down‘ to impending lockdown, Boosie Badazz may soon find himself behind bars for over a decade after pleading guilty to federal gun charges.
Details inside.
On Tuesday (August 26), the 42-year-old rapper pleaded guilty to a federal count of being a felon in possession of a firearm – a charge that stemmed from a 2023 arrest while he was in California
“Just accepted a plea from the federal government on my gun case,” the rapper (born Torence Hatch Jr.) shared earlier this month before officially making the plea this week. “I thought this case was over n I was going to get on with my life but ‘God don’t make mistakes’ n im tired of fighting?? Talked to my family n this is the right decision?? To all my fans across the world, say a prayer for ya boy n go get the new album.”
Boosie was arrested in a San Diego neighborhood in May 2023 after police found two guns inside a vehicle he was riding in.
He faces a maximum of 15 years behind bars if convicted; sentencing is set for November 21.
“I am optimistic for Mr. Hatch,” said his defense attorney, Meghan Blanco. “He wanted nothing more than to accept responsibility and put this behind him, and now it’s my job to make sure the court understands the scope of the case and what the case is really about. And more importantly, all of the amazing things that Mr. Hatch has done for the community and continues to do, and the amazing things that he will do going forward.”
