Khalid is taking the pain from last year’s outing drama and turning it into art.
“This chapter is about taking my power back, living in my truth, and being able to express myself freely. I’m excited for my fans to experience this new era with me, not just musically, but personally,” says the now openly gay 27-year-old star.
The first taste of the new era comes courtesy of the single ‘In Plain Sight,’ which premiered alongside its official music video directed by 91 Rules on Friday (August 15).
A dancefloor ready, buzzy Pop cut, ‘Sight’ serves as one of many gems set to line Khalid’s forthcoming album, ‘After the Sun Goes Down,’ due on digital shelves October 10.

‘Down’ will come as the follow-up to Khalid’s 2024-released LP ‘Sincere.’

I feel like we all knew he was ghey. But, as a ghey myself I’d really like to see a different kind of ghey. We are not all the same. I wonder if this ghey is really his authentic self. The song jams, though and I’ll still support as he’s one of my favorite artists and a fellow Aqua.
