Cardi B has waxed candid about the reason for her fiery Bia diss track

The Rap royal delivered a lyrical lashing on the Boston native by way of new song ‘Pretty & Petty,’ which is housed on her freshly unwrapped sophomore album, ‘Am I The Drama?’ 

Now, during an interview on The Breakfast Club, the pregnant 33-year-old dished on the rationale for the roasting.

Speaking with hosts Charlamagne Tha God and Loren LoRosa, Cardi shared the following about why she took aim at Bia:

“Because [she] mentioned my kids trying to be cute. There are gonna be times where people throw shots at you – or times where she did her little diss [track] and it was trash, people dragged (her), and I could have left it at that. But everything on social media is going to be seen. So, when my kids grow up one day, and they see that you mentioned them, and they ask me ‘So, what [did] you say (back)?’ I’m not going to say, ‘well, she took the high road because she lost and people weren’t on her side.’ No, I’m not saying that to my kids.”

She went on to expand on the genesis of the feud:

“She thought that I was copying her. And we were cursing each other out. Then I had a real conversation with her, and I was like, ‘Listen, I’m not copying you. I don’t even look at you. You’re not a person that I look at or I’m inspired by. And the conversation ended. Then she kept going, because of a music video. And I was like, ‘oh, girl, you definitely are not on the mood board.'”

Cardi went on to unpack allegations of Bia spreading rumors about her cheating.

Fed up and ready to pound, the star quipped:

“Now, I got a wet belt for you – and you won’t know when it’s coming. It’s when you’re in the shower and your mom finds out something and she whipped your a** and your body is wet…I’m gonna gonna hit you with a wet belt.”
