‘They Don’t Know‘ hitmaker Jon B. clearly knows how to upset Michael Jackson fans as he’s thrown his opinion into the chat to declare Chris Brown a better singer and overall entertainer.

Jon (born Jonathan Buck) is still hot on the promo trail in support of his March-released album ‘Waiting on You‘ and its latest single, ‘Chozen,’ which saw its music video premiere this week.
When not chatting it up with Hot 97’s DJ Drewski about new music, touring, and his overall career, Buck was quizzed about his thoughts on the Brown vs. Jackson debate.
“[Brown] is absolutely the most talented. He elevated what Michael started. He can sing better than Michael Jackson – the runs and the melodies – all the things he can do with his voice,” Jon started before relaying, “He can sing better in the sense that Michael didn’t do those things. There were some runs MJ did back in the day, but in terms of vocal dexterity and being able to do more with his voice, I’ll give Chris that. He’s ascended the style [of Michael].”
Needless to say, his statements – as evidenced by the explosive comments left on Hot 97’s pages – didn’t sit well with MJ fans.
The blowback is similar to one received last year by Tank (who Buck recently collaborated with for the title track for his latest album ‘Waiting on You‘) as the R&B singer also declared Brown to be a better “singer, songwriter, and dancer” than Michael.

Do people get paid to say this? Seriously. Chris Brown can’t sing, not live anyway judging by his constant lip syncing and use of pitch correction in his mics and his stage presence is nowhere close to Michael Jackson’s. They just set him up to be dragged….

I would say Chris Brown is more of a Bobby Brown than Michael Jackson artist but he doesnt have a “My Prerogative”. He makes cute trendy music but his legacy and level of artistry and innovation will NEVER compare to that of MJ. He isn’t even touching Jermaine’s legacy.

If we’re talking about dancing CB actually is the winner. Ppl don’t want to admit that but he can do what MJ did and much more. Mj is just the original.
MJ was an amazing and masterful vocalist. He painted pictures and told stories with his voice. Chris’ songs are not difficult to sing and his runs aren’t anything special. He just combined Eric Bellinger and Brandy’s vocal styles. These random Gen X has beens need to let Chris balls breathe .

I agree with all these comments. For once people in the comments section are keeping it real, factual and classy. Chris is nowhere not even close to Michaels level of artistry. Michael literally embodied his music, felt every beat and melody, sometimes even building an entire track on his beatboxing alone. His vocal range was still intact in the latter part of his career, just listen to his vocal runs at the end of Earth Song. Chris makes music for the moment. I would not really class any of his songs as classic. They mostly go with the trend at the time. Michael has a huge catalogue of classics, Man In The Mirror, Rock With You, Billie Jean, Human Nature, Who Is It, Earth Song the list goes on and on.
