In a new interview on Kandi Burruss’ podcast “Speak On It,” Johnson opened up about the people who stood by her side when life got tough, and among them was none other than Beyonce.
During the episode, Johnson credited a handful of entertainers who personally reached out during her lowest points.
“The only people that have reached out: Donald Lawrence, you (Kandi Burruss), Jamie Foxx, Tyrese, Muni Long, and Beyonce. All the names I named are from the urban world.”
Johnson, who first rose to fame as the winner of Sunday Best and was briefly managed by Beyonce’s father, Mathew Knowles, has had several meaningful connections with the Knowles family over the years. She performed at the funeral of Beyoncé’s uncle and recently joined Ms. Tina Knowles’ book tour as a featured guest singer.
