Things are certainly looking up for once-embattled singer-actor Jussie Smollett.
With that infamous 2019 hoax hate crime scandal officially in his rear view, the 43-year-old – as evidenced by his recent Netflix documentary ‘The Truth About Jussie Smollett‘ – is mounting a massive personal and professional comeback.
As if making headlines for a recent engagement announcement to longtime beau Jabari Redd wasn’t enough to celebrate, Smollett is also returning to television courtesy of a stint on the celebrity reality series ‘Special Forces.’
What’s more, he recently signed to Rowdy Records and is prepping his upcoming album, ‘Break Out,’ for release this Fall.
Ahead of its arrival to digital shelves, Jussie is acquainting music lovers with its title track – an introduction accompanied by the tune’s official music video directed by Royston.
“We got to break out / Show each other love, got to do it now / Never soon enough / If we move this right, we get to stay in the light / We get to live like we’re living it up, yeah,” he croons over the inspiring track.

Decent song, I like it. But I don’t see him ever rebounding from his self inflicted PR nightmare.
Might not get much traction, but this was simple and cute. Video makes me like the song even more. The documentary did more question ASKING than answering, but I’m still here for the music.
nice lyrics, nice production, but the vocals??? What in the Sheep&B mess is that struggle singing???
No thanks…. We good! I didn’t know this criminal can sing…
