Multiple online petitions have surfaced demanding that the NFL swaps the Puerto Rican megastar for country star Strait. The move follows the league’s announcement that the ‘Monaco’ hitmaker will headline the February 8, 2026 spectacle, igniting fiery debate across social media.
Petitioner organizer Kar Shell argues that:
“The Super Bowl halftime show should unite our country, honor American culture, and remain family-friendly, not be turned into a political stunt.”
And he claimed that:
“Bad Bunny represents none of these values; his drag performances and style are the opposite of what families expect on football’s biggest stage.”

Strait’s petition has racked up 40,000 signatures, while others calling for Bunny’s removal have crossed the 30,000 mark.
