Drake has been dealt a knockout blow in the courtroom. For, a judge has dismissed his ‘Not Like Us’ lawsuit against Universal Music Group.
Full story below…
Moments ago, a federal judge ruled that UMG’s role in the “war of words” between the Canadian rapper and Kendrick Lamar did not violate the law.
Drake’s filed a suit against the company (to whom he is signed), alleging that releasing the track amounted to defamation because of the scale of Lamar’s lyrical lashing.
Judge Jeannette Vargas granted the UMG’s motion to dismiss, asserting that Lamar’s lyrics were more “hyperbole” than defamatory.
The ruling read:
“The artists’ seven-track rap battle was a ‘war of words’ that was the subject of substantial media scrutiny and online discourse. Although the accusation that plaintiff is a p*dophile is certainly a serious one, the broader context of a heated rap battle, with incendiary language and offensive accusations hurled by both participants, would not incline the reasonable listener to believe that ‘Not Like Us’ imparts verifiable facts about plaintiff.”
The judgment brings an end to a legal battle that few could have conceived would ever occur in Hip-Hop.
With that, what are…

Now that Canadian bottom can go weep! He was a sore fµck!ng loser, now he got egg on his face. His fans were so convinced he was gonna prove some big industry conspiracy, meanwhile it’s the system that HE benefitted from.
Now he’s out of money and still a s**** to UMG
Not the Canadian Bottom 😂 No wonder Bieber won’t call him back 🤭
Lost a rap battle, cried to the courts and lost that battle. This is the biggest L in history because he was cocky throughout the whole thing. 🤣🤣🤣
And the Pedofowls thought he was going to win and be a billionaire lmfaooo too many Ls
I’m going to give Drake half a toenail of empathy…
He should’ve continued to be the Taylor Swift of rap, making head-spinning dance songs & summer jams – and promise he would’ve been able to continue to be as mediocre as he wanted to be.
Instead he turned his back on his female fanbase to become a fake gangsta rapper and that’s when it went all down hill. I’d love to see how he pivots and if he will be able to recover because this is a HORRIBLE look.
All of Young Money crew has gone out sad. None of them took the millions of dollars they had and invested it in themselves so that they could walk away from music while having the businesses work for them. Embarrassing!
Really good analysis. Drakes fall from grace has been hard and fast. He shouldn’t have tried the Rap battle ish that’s not his bag. Dude really ruined his legacy and probably won’t recover.
Did all that just to see that man’s contract so you can point and laugh and ended making a fool of yourself amongst your peers and the general public. His lawyers knew better.
Drake, how did you get your ass beat by a record label. Oh mah gaaaawd! AND You’re still stuck in that mega s**** deal you signed. No settlement or renegotiation for you!
The young money crew is done lmao!!!
His big dumb self thought he was going to have a cute lil win at rap against thee Pulitzer Prize winner that would prove his value and allow him to demand more money… but instead he ruined his marketability. Drake is maddest at himself because HEEEEE did this to him.
“Drakes gona be a billionaire when he wins this lawsuit”
“Drake will own Kendrick’s masters when this is over with”
“Drake keeps the lights on at UMG”
10/9/25 CASE DISMISSED
It seems like civil suits are becoming harder to win in general. The evidence must be rock solid. As for Drake, this lawsuit was strictly emotional. He let his bruised ego cloud his judgement and expose him for the fraud he’s always been.
Ch…….the OVO h*** are on social media fighting for their fµck!ng lives.
I’ve seen it all: He’s still the most streamed, ranting about how this isn’t fair, claiming the judge was paid off by Roc Nation, etc. They cannot cope with Etch-A-Sketch Papi losing the war. He should’ve retreated after Kendrick destroyed him but he had to become a Karen and sue for emotional distress. smdh
