Shakira is showing love to Bad Bunny as he gears up to headline the Super Bowl LVIX Halftime Show.

In a new interview with Variety, the superstar praised the Puerto Rican hitmaker, calling his upcoming performance a milestone for Latin music.
Celebrating how far Spanish-language artists have come in the global music scene, Shaki even reflected on her own 2020 halftime show with Jennifer Lopez, in which Bunny served as a special guest.
According to the Colombian diva, much progress has been made in the industry since then, and she is partly to credit for the shift.
“I remember when we did ours that even having part of our set in Spanish was a bold move,” she said. “Acceptance of Spanish-language music as part of the mainstream has come so far from when I started. I hope and like to think that all the times my music was met with resistance or puzzlement from the English-speaking world before it was embraced, helped forge the path to where we are now.”
She added:
“I’m so proud of Bad Bunny not only for representing our culture but for showing how universal our music has become…I can’t wait to watch it.”
Her comments echo those of her Halftime Show co-star J.Lo, who recently took to the press to praise the NFL and Apple Music for selecting Bunny for the gig.
Super Bowl LX is set for February 8, 2026, and if Shakira’s excitement is any indication, Bad Bunny’s show might be one for the history books.
