The Rap icon joined GLAAD’s Darian Aaron for an intimate fireside chat, discussing LGBTQ representation in media and how HIV has shaped the music industry. Reflecting on the early epidemic, Snoop recalled the fear and lack of guidance, saying:
“There was no medical information to let us know what was going on. We were so scared, we stopped everything.”

Snoop’s appearance follows his recent Spirit Day conversation with artist Jeremy Beloate, where he championed LGBTQ youth and celebrated diverse families. Snoop said:
“It’s a beautiful thing that kids can have parents of all walks and be shown love, to be taught what love is…being able to have parents from all walks of life, whether it be two fathers, two mothers, whatever it is, love is the key.”
The moment also arrived months after Snoop faced backlash earlier this year for homophobic remarks about the film ‘Lightyear,’ comments he later issued a public apology.
His appearance appears to signal a continued effort to repair that relationship and lift queer communities.
