Dionne Warwick hit with lawsuit for 'Paint The Town Red'

Legal drama is still swirling around Doja Cat‘s chart-topping hit ‘Paint The Town Red,’ and this time, it centers on Dionne Warwick.

Full story below…

According to Billboard, Artist Rights Enforcement Corp has filed a lawsuit accusing the legendary singer of attempting to walk away from a long-standing royalty agreement tied to the song’s sample.

The company claims it has represented Warwick since the early 2000s and was responsible for negotiating the use of her classic ‘Walk On By,’ allegedly securing a 50% royalty split in the process.

In the filing, Artist Rights Enforcement alleges that after years of working on Warwick’s behalf, she is now refusing to honor the deal, a move they say could cost them hundreds of thousands, if not millions. The company is seeking damages and enforcement of the agreement.

Doja Cat is not named in the suit, and at the time of writing, Warwick has yet to publicly respond.
