It’s official: Mariah Carey‘s perennial hit ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You‘ has unwrapped an unprecedented 20 weeks at the pole position of the Hot 100.
Taking to press on Monday (December 15), Billboard announced ‘Christmas’ kept its grip on the Hot 100’s top spot for another frame after returning to the championship position last week.
Here are the numbers that powered the placement.
- Streaming = 39.5 million U.S.-based streams
- Radio airplay = 22.6 million audience impressions
- Sales = 3,000 downloads
Breaking what once was a three-way, 19-week tie between Shaboozey‘s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ and Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road,’ ‘Christmas’ – now the sole titleholder – is the first song to ever reign for 20 weeks atop the Hot 100 in the chart’s 67-year history.
