Although Mariah Carey‘s annual domination of the Billboard Hot 100 comes as no surprise, this year’s ascension to the tally’s throne is accompanied by some jaw-dropping, history-making stats.
As expected, Carey’s ‘Christmas’ returned to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week; here are the numbers that powered the placement.
- Streaming = 33.7 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales = 3,000 downloads
- Radio Airplay = 22.4 million audience impressions
The handsome combo above was just enough to help edge Taylor Swift‘s ‘Life of a Showgirl‘ hit, ‘Fate of Ophelia,’ out of the top spot.
In doing so, ‘Christmas’ earned its 19th cumulative print at #1 on the Hot 100 – tying the all-time record for most weeks at the chart’s summit.
She shares the historic title with Shaboozey‘s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)‘ and Lil Nas X‘s ‘Old Town Road.’
As if that’s not enough to boast, ‘Christmas’ becomes the first song in the Hot 100’s 67-year history to top the tally in seven distinct runs: 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and now 2025 holiday seasons.

Well she had the longest running number 1 for years until old town road so congrats to the queen for snatching it back she just needs 1 more week to be queen of the longest running number 1 again go Mariah go!
yass for even if there weren’t holiday songs, Taylor STILL would not have been number 1 this week seeing Golden ahead of it.
