Hot 100: Tyla’s ‘Chanel’ Is This Week’s Highest-Charting Female Debut

Published: Wednesday 24th Dec 2025 by Rashad

Tyla has a hit on her hands with her latest single ‘Chanel.’

Two months after the GRAMMY winner first unveiled the single, ‘Chanel‘ – despite the annual onslaught of holiday tunes dominating the Hot 100 – still managed to finally crack the coveted countdown.

Here are the numbers that powered its debut placement of #94.

  • Streams 4.9 million U.S.-based streams
  • Digital downloads 600 sold
  • Radio airplay = 900,000 audience impressions

Coming as the highest premiere of the week (among female acts), the arrival of ‘Chanel’ to the Hot 100 marks its performer’s first appearance on the all-genre chart since ‘Push 2 Start’ pushed to a #88 peak in January.

The news – certain to upset City Girls‘ star Yung Miami who once alleged the concept of ‘Chanel’ was swiped from her without permission – comes as Tyla watches the P2J and Ian Kirkpatrick-produced tune soar on every format (radio, streaming, and digital downloads) thanks to a viral dance trend on Tik Tok that’s continuing to skyrocket its exposure.

Already a top 40 hit in several countries around the world including her native South Africa as well as Australia, Nigeria, and beyond, the growing success of ‘Chanel’ could see that chart victory replicated in the United Kingdom (having already peaked at #51 there) as well as the United States once the holiday rush is over.

While we await official news on that, Tyla is said to be putting the finishing touches on her highly anticipated second studio album – the follow-up to her eponymous, 2024-released debut.

At writing, it’s not been confirmed if ‘Chanel’ will be included on its tracklist.

Tomatoes…Tomatoes…Tomatoes! Get this girl out of here already. Is anyone truly checking for her? Keep it real and let’s be honest. I’d say not. Gorgeous beauty and stunning from head to toe but she is boring. Rihanna left this spot open most recently in regards to black female pop stars who “abide” and the industry has been desperate to fill it with any cute black girl in these last 4 years who fits the mold smh.

Honestly, no. Like, there is nothing with her. No Star appeal, no unique Voice. Just a regular girl.
      But good luck to her
