Mariah Carey just unwrapped a major legal win tied to her holiday staple ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You.’

The legendary singer has been awarded tens of thousands in attorney’s fees after a long-running copyright lawsuit against her was officially shut down. The case centered on claims that her festive smash copied another song of the same name, but the court clearly wasn’t here for the shenanigans.

According to newly filed court documents, Carey has been granted $92,300 after a judge ruled that the lawsuit brought by country artist Andy Stone resulted in unnecessary legal expenses.

Stone, who performs under the name Vince Vance, sued in late 2023 claiming Carey’s song infringed on a 1988 track released by his band.

He was seeking $20 million in damages before the case was dismissed earlier this year.

In a sharp ruling, the judge described the legal arguments as frivolous and criticized what she called egregious conduct from Stone’s legal team.

Sony Music, Kobalt Publishing, and producer Walter Afanasieff were also awarded portions of the nearly $110,000 in total sanctions.

As of now, Stone’s attorneys face a looming deadline to explain their conduct or risk further disciplinary action.
