With nearly 40 years in the music business, one doesn’t get to Vanessa Williams‘ stature in the entertainment industry without being a consummate pro – especially under pressure.
In case a reminder was needed, it was served Sunday (January 18) when her stirring performance of the U.S. national anthem was interrupted by a heckler ahead of the NBA’s London game between the Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic.

As seen in the video above, the anti-Trump heckler shouted midway through her performance.
“Leave Greenland alone,” the unidentified man exclaimed, garnering a mixed reaction of laughter, applause, and jeers.
Though unfazed by the interruption in real-time, Williams later took to Instagram on Monday (January 19) with a simple reaction to the mess.
“Drama!,” she said while sharing a news clipping of the incident to her 809,000 followers on the platform.
Short-and-sweet, the 62-year-old has yet to address the moment via interview and likely won’t any time soon as she’s busy slaying critics on London’s West End in a theatrical production of ‘Devil Wears Prada.’
