Jill Scott is wasting no time applying pressure with her new music rollout.
Just a week after shocking longtime fans with the release of her ‘Beautiful People‘ single alongside news about ‘To Whom This May Concern‘ – her first studio album since 2015’s chart-topping ‘Woman‘ – Scott is already following up with another taste from the LP: ‘Pressha.’
“I wasn’t the aesthetic / I guess, I guess I get it / So much pressha / To appear just like them,” she sings over Vincent “VT” Tolan and Adam Blackstone production.
A testament to the challenges many face with the pressures of having to conform to societal beauty standards, Jill’s latest is a timely yet poignant love letter to staying true to self.
Released Friday (January 9), hop inside to hear it in full.
