Petitions to Deport Nicki Minaj Surge Past 125,000 Signatures

It’s apparent thousands of Americans want ‘Starships‘ hitmaker Nicki Minaj on the first flight smoking back to her native Trinidad and Tobago.

As reported here, Minaj (born Onika Maraj) stunned her fans and supporters when she was the surprise guest of Erika Kirk‘s at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest on December 21 – where she not only praised President Donald Trump‘s administration but also landed in hot water for making comments many deemed transphobic.

Barely a week after the appearance, a petition launched in July calling for her deportation made headlines and skyrocketed to a whopping 30,000 signatures as a result.

Since then, other petitions calling for the same have made waves online – gaining even more traction over the holidays.

“Nicki Minaj’s actions and words have taken a turn that has left many of her supporters and those who once found solace in her music feeling deeply betrayed. Once a voice for the LGBTQ+ community, she has now flipped her stance, asserting outdated and harmful notions such as “boys should just be boys.” These statements aren’t just insensitive; they undermine the very foundations of a community that looked up to her for advocacy and understanding,” a petition created on December 27 said. “Furthermore, Nicki’s status in the United States is not based on citizenship, which raises questions about her continued presence here despite her divisive actions and statements. Deporting Nicki Minaj back to Trinidad would serve as a reminder that public figures need to be accountable for their words and the broader impact they have on diverse communities.”

Later in its introduction lambasting the Harajuku Barbie, the author – reportedly a 16-year-old named Tristan Hamilton – encouraged prospective signees to “sign this petition to urge immigration authorities to review Nicki Minaj’s residency status in the United States and consider deporting her back to Trinidad as a response to her harmful rhetoric.”

Barely a week after its arrival to the net, the petition has already amassed a whopping 42,000 signatures – a sum that does not include the 84,000 names collected by the separate, July-created petition previously mentioned.

Despite a collective 126,000 (and counting) signees adding their names to get Nicki booted out of America, reps from The White House nor of Minaj’s have publicly commented on the hoopla or the petitions.
