Less than a week after commemorating the fifth anniversary of her GRAMMY-winning album ‘Heaux Tales,’ R&B soulstress Jazmine Sullivan was given more good news to celebrate after learning the project’s breakout single – ‘Pick Up Your Feelings‘ – picked up her first double Platinum plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Taking to press on Monday (January 13), the RIAA revealed a slew of updates for favorites from Sullivan’s catalog with the easy standouts coming as the 2x Platinum plaques issued to 2021’s ‘Pick Up Your Feelings,’ 2017’s ‘Insecure,’ and 2008’s ‘Bust Your Windows.’
Despite boasting a career nearing its 20th anniversary, the trio of certifications come as milestones for the R&B diva as she’s not previously had a song or album reach double Platinum status.
For context, “Platinum” refers to the sales equivalence of 1 million units sold in the United States.
Other noteworthy updates delivered include ‘Let It Burn’ being certified Platinum while ‘Holding You Down,’ ’10 Seconds,’ ‘Hurt Me So Good,’ ‘Lost One,’ and ‘On It’ all were elevated to Gold (signifying sales of 500,000 units).
Collectively, they help push Sullivan’s cumulative single sales to 10 million in the U.S.
