During a candid sit-down on ‘Call Her Daddy’ with Alex Cooper, seen above, the singer reaffirmed a remark he made two years ago about never feeling truly in love. Asked if he still stood by it, Malik calmly doubled down, explaining:
“Because my understanding of love is always developing. At that moment in time, I might have thought it was love, but as I got older, I realized maybe it wasn’t. Maybe it was lust. Maybe it was this … maybe it was that … I don’t feel like it was love.”
He was quick, however, to stress his enduring respect for Gigi Hadid, mother of his daughter Khai. He said:
“I will always love G, because she’s the reason my child is on this Earth, and I have the utmost respect for her. I will always love her, but I don’t know if I was ever in love with her.”
The former couple, who split in 2021 after a turbulent fallout, now appear to be on far steadier ground.
Meanwhile the singer is keeping fans busy on the music from with his new single ‘Die For Me’ and the announcement of his upcoming fifth studio album ‘KONNAKOL’ arriving April 17.

Some truths are better left unsaid, especially in public. Now I see why he’s so disliked.
