Shortly after Cycle 21 contestant Romeo Tostado was eliminated for head butting a fellow model weeks into the competition, ‘America’s Next Top Model’s Angelea Preston has filed a lawsuit against the show after being eliminated in its All-Star season.
The show’s reason for doing so?
Her days as an alleged sex worker.
Full story below…
An “America’s Next Top Model” contestant says producers snatched her crown AFTER she won it fair and square, because they found out … she used to be an escort.
Angelea Preston says things started to go South right before she taped the finale of the All-Star season in 2011. According to a lawsuit she’s filing … Preston told producers, confidentially, prior to filming the season she had been an escort for about a year — and that spread like wildfire to the rest of the cast and crew.
After the finale was taped — and Preston had won the grand prize — she says a casting director called and grilled her about the whole escort business. In the suit, Preston says she admitted it, but insists she was a legal escort and not a prostitute. Despite this, Preston was told she had violated her contract and could not be the winner.
Preston says her pay-for-play days were well behind her when she shot the All-Star season, so therefore she did NOT break the contract. She says losing the title cost her a bunch of Vogue spreads, and a $100,000 CoverGirl deal.
She’s suing producers, networks, and studios for breach of contract and says she suffered at least $3 million in damages.
BONUS FACT: In the suit, Preston says the models worked in torturous conditions — like being denied food and water for 10 hours. Yes, a model is complaining about NOT eating.
The arrival of her suit couldn’t have come at a more interesting time for the modelling series, who were forced to boot the aforementioned Tostado from its latest season following an altercation with competitor Adam Smith.
Head butting the biracial model in a bid to provoke him into a fight, Tostado was shown the door by the show’s creator Tyra Banks, who revealed he was the first model in its history to be cut loose because of a violent act committed during its taping.
Do you wanna be on Top! (Tyra’s voice)

Although the whole thing was handled really badly, is Angelea really that surprised. As if Cover Girl want a former escort representing their products.
WHO?
Am I the only one who finds the writing on this site atrocious?
Why is this post focused on a head butting incident that’s entirely unrelated to the lawsuit? It’s confusing.
Confusing to you. If you watched the show you would know that these are two of the only contestants to have ever been eliminated by the Queen which is where the connection is.
It is a bit confusing. Not what it says but how its worded. The first sentence of this article did not have to mentioned Romeo. Cuz when you get to “aforementioned” towards the end you have to go back up to recall the details. That description of the Romeo situation was short enough to include at the end with the rest of the details. Just saying.
What ANTM winners have actually booked Vogue Covers??? She needs to have several seats…
I dont blame her for suing, but she better have a powerful team of lawyers!
I actually watched this season so I know which vogue spreads she’s referring to. They were apart of the prize package that cycle and the reps seemed to like her the most… which is why I was surprised she just got cut out of the final judging. Anyways that whole season was jank anyway and the vogue people and covergirl pulled out the show after this season, I now see why. :/
I was mad she won then they had to do a re-taping of the finale.
