Pop powerhouse Jessie J is moving at lightening speed with her new album ‘Sweet Talker’.
Having blazed the charts with lead single ‘Bang Bang’ and earned critical acclaim with its follow up ‘Burnin’ Up’, the British bred belter has announced her latest Stateside single ‘Masterpiece’.
Playing at a somewhat slower tempo, the Josh Alexander production sounds well-suited for the time of year and serves as a solid Winter warmer.
Check out its lyric video below…
As decent as the song is, we feel it’d be more suited to the European/Australian market – who have proven themselves more receptive to tracks such as this. Yet, because of the jarring international release schedules, ‘Burnin’ Up’ is still awaiting an official release…in December. Ki.
In any case…
For the US, cuts such as ‘Sweet Talker’, ‘Keep Us Together’, and the superb ‘Seal Me With A Kiss’ sound like sure-fire radio hits and more befitting of the single treatment there.
Alas, the decision has been made so it seems. Do you agree?
I’m in US and agree keep us together has been on repeat in my car! I love that song. With that being said I don’t hate masterpiece I hope it does well for her. I’m enjoying this album. I’m always here for raw talent. And Jessie has that.
This album is a solid piece of work! For me, it doesn’t matter it performs well. Quality over quantity!
I have to agree with you, Sam. ‘Sweet Talker’ was the natural next single; there’s nothing wrong with this cut, but I don’t see it climbing up the Hot 100. ‘ST’ would’ve carried her into the wintry months when ‘Personal’ would have been apropos.
Kudos to her for making a much better album in less than a year time than the terrible second album she released last year.
But I´m still waiting on Sam to report about all these faves of his first week sales like he did with Mariah Carey back in May-June week after week, and even every day. How many copies has Jessie sold? Luke James? When is Elijah or whatever his name is going to finally release an album at all? All of them are selling way less than Mariah´s worst selling album at 44 years old. Speaks volumes. She´s also in a successful Asian and Australian tour but he hardly reports about it, for example her phenomenal intro for Emotions in Adelaide, Australia.
she doing her thing.
Corny, she has much better than this
