It seems the promo push for Jennifer Hudson’s debut single is in full swing; the Oscar winner performed the song on Regis & Kelly this morning. Check out the performance below:
As expected, Jennifer nailed it. For a song that, though solid, kinda lacks the “commercial” factor that seems to equal ‘hit’ these days, Jennifer is selling both herself and the song with these live performances. Good stuff.
What do you think of the performance?
Not the best start (compared to the version shown yesterday) but an excellent finish!!! Guess I'll be buying Solange/Ne-yo & JHUD's albums next … instead of Michelle's!!!!!!!! damn
Can’t wait for the album.. She’s about the only female RnB artist I’m lookin’ forward to..
She just killed it!! I’m wicked anxious to be hearing more from her. Def on my list of CD’s to be buying this year!
I can’t see anything. I guess there is a problem with the video. All I can say for now, I will buy her album.
her voice is beautiful
‘F’ the commercial S***, Jen is the TRUTH
and the start wasnt sound bad, the mic was turned low that all……….KMT
RB
She could have better stage presence….She looked dead in the camera at certain points but nice performance overall.
she need some stage presence….but vocal performance was so one point…
i am starting to love love love this song and j.hud more every second
this woman can do no wrong.i love it
terrible stage presence. it was a tad bit better than her performance on good morning america.
who the hell keeps dressing her in those wretched dresses???? you don’t dress all exposed like that on a morning show.
Sony’s label should take notes! Michelle came out WAY before and the only performances have been at small clubs and functions, nothing major like this. Even Kelly got this.
Rooting for Jennifer!!
Jennifer, you are an awesome singer. However, you must find a way to create a live performance more youthful to reach your age demographic. The video to Spotlight is what raised the popularity of the song. So why not use either a pre-taped or your own voice to state the beginning telephone dialog that you used on the video. Then, have a beautiful male dancer on stage with you so that you can emphasize the meaning of the song, and the dancer can provide a dance routine to accommodate the song. Otherwise, standing at a mike with background singers ages the demographic of the song. For now, you are not trying to get the Whitney, Celine or Barbara Streisand fans.
I agree with “July 24 at 6:19 a.m.” There is no need to show so much cleavage on a morning show. I know all of this is new to you, Jennifer, but I am confident that you will take more control of your destiny as you grow in the business.
Hire some people to bring your stage presence up. I want your album to be a chart topper!
