After an elongated spell out of the spotlight, Jessie J has returned.
The vocal wonder has unwrapped ‘Real Deal’ – which serves as first taste of her upcoming album.
Produced by DJ Camper, the track finds the Brit bred belter in fine form as she rides over the Hip-Hop flavoured production.
She’s not billing this a single, but more an introduction to her refreshed sound. So, without further ado, meet new Jessie after the jump…
Upon initial spin, it does quite quickly become clear why she wants to avoid the “single” tag. As it’s difficult to see where this would fit in the radio realm – especially in light of her Pop-ier leanings of past.
Still, if viewed as a transitionary track, this makes for a fulfilling listen. It hits hard, has unique production, and boasts an unconventional catchiness.
It’ll be interesting to see how she’s developed this sound in the context of the rest of her album.
This is decadent…she’s a great singer
That “WHOA” in the beginning was very Janet Jackson. Other than that the track is very soulful//Rnb-ish, not sure this is gonna explode on POP radio.
She sounds BETTER than Janet Jackson naturally without all the auto tune..✌??
