Winnie was never the 1st lady. Nelson Mandela and Winnie had divorced before he became President.

I guess we’ll see if Jennifer Hudson really has the acting chops. Hope she breaks the Oscar curse!

  8. SparkD November 16, 2010

I hope they don’t glorify Winnie too much, because she had people killed too.

Their accents are terrible, but the movie looks good.

I’m sure South Aftricans are having a fit that Americans are playing them.

Well can’t wait to see how it turns out! It’s an important story to be told!…even if it is Americans playing the leading roles…it’s all about funding I guess! I do hope they get the accents rite tho south African accents are very tricky we don’t speak like the rest of our African brothers and sisters! Very few foreign actors have succeeded! They always sound way too west African! Be that as it may I am anticipating….

    okay…..

    Those accents are HORROR.

Movie looks very Indie for such great actors/actresses…

looks good, but Terrance Howard’s accent is not good. J’huds is a lil bit better, but I don’t know about this one

I’m sorry but neither one of them are good actors.

Jennifer was good in Dreamgirls but HELLO? It was a musical and she’s a singer! The same with Beyonce. I thought Dreamgirls was her best performance but she played a singer in a movie. Who else to play a singer in a movie than an actual singer? Um, yeah.

Jennifer was TERRIBLE in S** and the City! I mean HORRIBLE! She wasn’t even remotely believable in that movie.

And please don’t get me started on Terrence! Hustle Flow anyone?

DEAD@ AMZING _LEE bitter beyakki stan

just cos jhud snatched that oscar.

my mother is Xhosa and ive been to SA (east london) plenty of times.

these people sound NOTHING like madiba (nick name for nelson) and winnie.

infact, the REAL winnie wasnt to please Jenny was playing her as she felt many capable SA actors have been looked over for the sake of getting a big name movie.

even the white people dont sound like the typical boar afrikanner prawns. (white ppl)

ive seen MUCH better adaptations of Winnies story (that tell both sides as we all know that Winnie went to the dark side)

from the trailor, this looks like its shaping up to be that typical american feel good dramatised version of actual events

    and

    its

    a
    flawp

@ Dr Fenty, typical beyonce hater…u dont have to be a beyonce fan to knw that dreamgirls really was her best performance….i really dont like jhud, i think she’s too arrogant, dont like her much as an actress either…terrance howard is ehhhhh….

Academy Award WINNER Jennifer Hudson she is gettin rrady to get that Second Oscar

  22. norma November 18, 2010

I can not wait for this movie to hit the big screen. A very very deep and intense movie. Jhud and Terrence came hard for this one. They even have the accent down packed. We all have seen and heard all about the life of Nelson Mandela. Well, The wonderful and talented Jennifer Hudson is bring his Ex- wife Winnie Mandela story to the fore front as well. I strongly believe this movie will be a very big hit around the world.
