I don´t know what is more undeserving. Beyonce´s ridiculous many wins (in lesser categories) or Rihanna´s wins in also lesser categories and thanks to features. Kendrick deserved. Point blank. The subject matter of Damn paired w/ it’s palatabilty w/ consumers of all backgrounds & how all of his visuals have beautifully complimented it is nothing short of amazing. His performance at the Grammys last night was 1 of several examples of him pushing the boundaries w/ rap music & how it’s perceived by this current generation.

Bruno Mars releases a reductive album imitating 80’s artists, and he wins album of the year. His album is not the biggest album of the year commercially according to Billboard (Kendrick’s album is) nor does it have the biggest hits (That’s What I Like peeked at number one for one week.) He still wins for a karaoke album that the much more successful albums by which his album is inspired were not even nominated. In what world does that make any sense?
