The accolades continue to accrue for Pop queen Janet Jackson.
For, it’s been announced that the ‘Made For Now’ maven will be honored with the Rock Star at BET‘s Black Girls Rock 2018.

Taping August 26th at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, this year’s spectacle will see Jackson saluted as a a “phenomenal woman in music.” The last recipient of the honor was Rihanna in 2016.
Hosted by Queen Latifah, the ceremony – which airs September 9th – will also tribute recipients include Mary J. Blige, Naomi Campbell and Judith Jamison.
MJB will be presented with the Star Power award, while supermodel Campbell be bestowed with the Black Girl Magic award. For her work in dance and choreography, Jamison will receive the Living Legend award. [Source]

I love Janet with all my heart and appreciate all of our legends/Icons if im a fan or not because of the work they have put in. It sad its taken soo long for the music world to come around and see Janet for who she truly is and not the super bowl. Moving forward I just hope Janet does more promo for Made for now as it has falling to #29 on the itunes in the USA and daily streaming charts are not showing MFN in any of the global 200 charts for daily totals, but its growing on people and is a great video. No Janet and all our other greats have nothing to prove, but it would just be nice to see our older performers still having the success on the charts is all im saying. I do understand the music world and climate has changed a great deal and Janet has stayed true to who she is, but im sure we all want to see our favorite people on top. Something is weird though. 20 million streams of the video means it should be charting already. Radio is not supporting it so far though which is a huge problem. It might be a little too pop for rnb stations and we all know pop stations play the same exact 20 songs in heavy rotation with no variation. Seems like the song might do better with two versions: one for rnb and one for pop.
I don’t care what anyone says about Beyonce, I do believe she should have long time ago should have receive at least a humanitarian award ? by now and I don’t understand why haven’t she been honor yet?
