How he feels about straight men playing gay characters?
Being black and gay and out came with a lot of unemployment. It’s a double layer, the layer of being a person of color in this industry then the layer of being a queen. Nobody can see you as anything else. If “flamboyant” wasn’t in the description of the character, no one would see me, ever, for anything,

It wouldn’t be so enraging if it went the other direction, but it doesn’t. Because straight men playing gay, everybody wants to give them an award.

He can’t act. He just plays himself.
Stop impersonating me t***** b*tch!!
People who just play themselves in roles are not real actors (Billy Porter really is a feminine queen, Jussie Smollett really is a self-absorbed gay coke queen, Lynn Whitfield really is a b|tch, Gabrielle Union really is Mary Jane, Glynn Truman really is just like the roles he plays, etc)
I watched for Stephan.. not feeling the braids…but im so in love with him
He telling the truth we can only play one kind of character while everybody else can play whoever they want even when they not good at it and win s***.
Though I love him and get his point as well da seeing the struggle with gay actors gering a straight role, I dont even see him in a straight role, hause I Think it would be totally unauthentic
