Alicia Keys wan’t afraid to get personal when she appeared on ‘Vogue’s 73 Questions.’

The multiple Grammy-winner, who is gearing up for the release of new album ‘ALICIA’ – revealed several details about her life, including growing up in Hell’s Kitchen.
Keys said of the experience:
“I’m thinking about a lot of darkness, a lot of drugs, prostitution. It was like the place where all the people who didn’t belong anywhere else would go. Which is why, like, Hell’s Kitchen was so fitting.”
The ‘Underdog’ singer also revealed that she wrote her first song at age 11 about her grandfather who passed away. She credits the song as being the reason why she started to write songs as a means of expression.
Keys also went on to discuss what musician her mother played for her growing up and what the women who raised her taught her growing up.
