Despite being on the same label, Pop stars Britney Spears and Chris Brown are set for a March chart showdown. The news comes after Spears’ new LP was confirmed to have pushed back by two weeks today.

Initially set to hit stores on March 15th, Spears’ ‘Femme Fatal’ will now arrive in stores on March 29th – according to Billboard.
The new date puts the singer in direct competition with Jive label-mate Chris Brown, who looks set for a comeback with his latest effort ‘F.A.M.E’. Indeed, Brown has been on quite the roll as of late – notching up hits ‘Yeah 3x’ and ‘Deuces’.
However, with ‘Fatal’s’ lead single ‘Hold It Against Me’ being the worldwide smash that it was, insiders predict the 29 year old will take the top spot – by quite a margin.
Sidebar: Despite official reports of a March 29th release date, Brown himself has declared that ‘F.A.M.E’ will still hit stores on March 22nd. Stay tuned.

I have no problem with Britney, I am not a fan and I don’t like her music, so her album, doesn’t interest me at all! I just know that she is a heavy weight in the industry and she can sell on her name alone. I don’t consider her CB’s competition cause their fanbases are totally different, but I do think it’s shady as hell for a label to give them ‘possibly’ the same release date! Well, obviously by my name I’ll be buying Chris’ album, and only Chris’ album. I like Britney, but not enough to buy Femme Fatale.
I don’t see why everybody is comparing Chris and Britney. Chris has been in the industry for five years, and Britney’s been in it since I was in diapers so sales comparisons are ridiculous. Chris had a hard time with Graffiti because of the incident and no promo, but his situation has improved miraculously since then and I wouldn’t doubt him so much with the sales. Definitely if not for the incident, Graffiti would have been 350k+ first week. Now Chris has to build his way back up, but with sufficient promo, I still think he should do 200k+.
Britney has had almost three times as long to establish herself as an artist so of course she’s going to do well. Quit comparing her to Chris.
