Good news continues to pour on ‘Rain on Me’ – the chart-topping duet from Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.
In addition to making history as the first all-female collaboration to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the BloodPop-produced bop helped both of its performers lead the nomination tally of the 2020 MTV VIdeo Music Awards (nabbing nine mentions respectively).

Ahead of their highly anticipated performance at the annual extravaganza (as well as grabbing some of its silver moonmen), they’ve learned the tune’s crossed the threshold for Platinum certification at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Details inside:
On Friday (August 28), the RIAA revealed ‘Rain on Me’ had been certified Platinum – denoting Stateside sales equivalence of 1 million.
Credited to Gaga (as the leading act), the May 22-released ‘Rain’ – released as the second single from Gaga’s latest album ‘Chromatica’ – is the first tune from the set to earn a certification.
With the win, the diva etches her name in history books and joins an exclusive club of female acts who can boast at least one Platinum certified hit from each of their first 5 solo studio albums.
Sincerely love this song! ♥️♥️
This will be Gaga’s last “hit” watch. Hopefully she gave Ariana a nice bouquet of flowers for saving her album. Lord knows the rest of the songs are forgettable
Oh hell no, gaga got her #1 & just like Justin Bieber got her #1. Arianna better bow down and kiss Gaga’s bu-t-t crack
