For, the final numbers have been tallied and the sum is seismic.
Full story below…
‘CLB’ launches at #1 on the Billboard 200 with 613,000 equivalent album units.
The sum serves as the biggest first-week sales of 2021 to date, besting the 309,000 start of Kanye West’s ‘Donda.’ It’s also the largest first-week sales for any album since Taylor Swift’s ‘Folklore’ premiered at #1 with 846,000 units.
Streaming unquestionably led the charge for Drizzy’s LP with a colossal 562,000 units of the total sum being amassed via that medium. The figure is so high thanks to record-breaking streams to the tune of 743.67 million spins of the album’s 21 tracks.
Pure sales were in the ballpark of 46,000 and will likely increase in earnest when ‘CLB’ arrives on CD on October 1.
The news comes ahead of what is poised to be the MC’s epic takeover of the upper region of the Billboard Hot 100 with several songs from the album.
