Over the summer R&B superstar Chris Brown made headlines for saying music award shows haven’t invited him to perform in years, a message that underscores why he – despite having some of the biggest Urban hits of the last decade – has rarely been seen delivering said smashes on major televised stages.
His dedicated fan base, affectionately called #TeamBreezy, thought the ‘Fortune‘ singer’s misfortune was set to change when reports surfaced he was due to do a tribute to his idol, Michael Jackson, in honor of the 40th anniversary of the King of Pop’s magnum opus, ‘Thriller,’ at the American Music Awards (AMAs) on Sunday (November 20).
And while rehearsal footage eventually surfaced of Brown showing off his oft-praised footwork in salute of the music icon, he doubled back to confirm he’s no longer on the show’s performance roster.

Brown, a four-time AMA winner (and also nominated for Favorite R&B Male Artist at this year’s ceremony), took to Instagram over the weekend to reveal rehearsal footage of what would have been his performance at Sunday’s showing.
Yet, according to him, the ceremony’s execs canned it at the last minute.
“WOULDVE been the ama performance but they cancelled me for reasons unknown,” he wrote in the comments to his 124 million followers on the social media platform.
The post garnered nearly 500,000 likes in less than half a day.
And while reps from the awards show have yet to officially respond to the hoopla, #TeamBreezy has taken to Twitter to let their frustrations be known – with some even calling for a boycott of the show.

Oh Well. Get another dancer, we’ll be aight.
The MJ tribute looked well crafted. I guess the reason for the cancelation will come out eventually.
Omg! That’s so racist💅🏾Diva is so mad right now and I lost all my appetite for d I c k s
I just wish all of are black entertainers will stop going to these white awards. We built this music industry. Africans (Americans) American made blues, R&b, country music, we made music and made America great. What have the white man-made without stealing from us??
The white man made everything you use and benefit from. Your iPhone, the internet, the Western world… I could keep going. Have some respect and appreciation.
Without Africa, there wouldn’t be any iPhone. The white man is a thief and they stole America.. So you keep going f**!
Black Americans made America great!!
America would be nothing but a few teepees had the white man not conquered it and you’d still be in Africa. Be grateful.
@Bravo!!, Show some receipts to prove your point. @Shayla Queen™ 👑 was telling you the truth. Bravo! is a stupid liar who only knows how to play the victim card. YAWN! Iphones come from Africa GTFO, you stupid CLOWN!
Africa only JUST invented their own version of the wheel 100 years ago. They are an ancient civilisation, although even to call them a civilisation is pushing it…
Africans were traveling to the states long before Europeans America would have been developed with or without whyte ppl. There was blk people involved in creating the internet too it wasn’t 1 man or 1 race but multiple people. You sound very uneducated u should probably read on these topics before spreading your uninformed opinion.
I don’t have time to prove no point to someone who has multiple tag names. There are African digging in mines to give America parts for the iPhone who are dying for pennies. The history books also talk about how the white man stole America from the Indians. You named one invention the white man probably didn’t steal. We know for fact the white man stole black American music and much more.
He ignorantly assaulted the Queen which basically ended his career
