SZA’s ‘SOS’ Soars to #1 on Worldwide iTunes / Tops Apple Music Charts Of 50 Countries Including U.S.

Published: Saturday 10th Dec 2022 by Rashad

If the real-time sales tallies of Apple Music and iTunes are anything to judge by, SZA fans apparently couldn’t wait to get their hands on her sophomore album, ‘SOS.’

Delivered December 9, the 23-track opus – which experienced multiple delays and pushbacks over the last few years – comes as her first studio effort since the release of her critically-acclaimed debut album, ‘CTRL.’

Less than 24 hours after its unveiling, ‘SOS’ is already in control of multiple real-time sales tallies around the globe.

At writing, the set – which features her most Hot 100 recent hits ‘Good Days,’ ‘Shirt,’ and ‘I Hate U’ – is not only getting major love from critics but is also listed at #1 on iTunes charts in nearly a dozen countries including the United States. It sits as the best-performing album in the world according to the current iTunes sales listing.

Faring even better on Apple Music charts, ‘SOS’ is settled at #1 in 50 countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Phillipines, Australia, Brazil, Canada, and many others.  Like iTunes, Apple Music shows ‘SOS’ as its best performer on the global front.

The commercial response on those platforms, once added to the steam that’s picking up on streaming outlets, could see ‘SOS’ land atop the Billboard 200 after its inaugural sales tracking week is complete.

If it manages to outpace the rush of holiday hits currently dominating the chart, it will mark the singer’s first appearance at the summit there as her previous studio effort peaked at #3 at the height of its popularity.

I’m so glad the critics are so great, I hope haters will hate more than never because the more they do the more they expose their weakness. My girl is winning, love it.
