If peruse of the latest R&B sales chart is anything to judge by, da girls didn’t shy away from opening their ears and wallets for Ciara‘s latest empowerment anthem, ‘Da Girls.’
Released March 24, ‘Da Girls’ comes as the latest cut from Ci’s forthcoming eighth studio album to get the video treatment. Following previously releaed singles ‘Better Thangs’ and ‘Jump,’ ‘Girls’ jumped to a #12 premiere on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales tally this week – an entrance that makes it the top-selling new R&B song.

Benefitting from an out-of-the-gate boost courtesy of its Sara Lacombe-directed music video (which subtly addressed the ‘selective outrage’ that followed her controversial wardrobe at Vanity Fair’s 2023 OSCARs’ sfterparty), the tune was also among the week’s most-streamed new R&B songs.
Despite the love on digital platforms, the absence of equal or greater performance on radio was enough to keep ‘Da Girls’ from premiering inside the Hot 100. But if the warm critical reception the Mike Woods & OG Parker-produced cut is enjoying so far is any indication, the addition of radio spins will be just what the doctor ordered to bump the bop into the Pop hitlist.

Congrats Ciara! I love watching ppl win!
Normani achievement
So it’s the weeks top selling r&b song, but not on bbhot100? That tells u how rigged the industry is lol. No radio deal, sales don’t matter. Congrats tho song is cute.
I mean you can sell 300 copies and top these charts. Considering she debuted at #12 I can guess she sold around 80-100 copies. Ciara’s an epic flop.
I love the song good for her
