Missy Elliot and Janelle Monae remain booked and busy, because they are set to join a new musical by Pharrell Williams and Universal Pictures.

Deadline reports that Missy has been tapped for a role in the musical, which is set in Virginia Beach in the summer of 1977 and is a coming-of-age musical inspired by the city’s Atlantis Apartments and the neighborhood where Williams grew up.
Additionally, Deadline also reports that Janelle Monae has been tapped for a role in the musical as well.
However, details about both Missy and Janelle’s roles have not been revealed at this time.
The news comes after it was previously announced that Halle Bailey has also been tapped for a role in the musical.
