Taking to press, Hits Daily Double unveiled an updated lsit of the sales charts for the mid-week. On it, Perry’s new album, ‘143,’ is string comfortably in the top 10 at #8. The updated numbers are now 40,000 total units. Of that sum, 30,000 are said to be from pure sales alone.
If the record manages to continue to perform strongly, then it will become her sixth top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart. She previously hit #1 with som of her albums like ‘Teenage Dream’ and ‘Prism.’
The news of her new updated sales comes after it was initially predicted to not do so well.

Katy is a prime example of staying connected to her audience. Like I know she was on American idol. But she was gone for ages, and barely did anything outside of American idol. Taylor swift (and I’m not a swifty but I have friends who are) connects with her audience all the time. She should prepare a new album for top of 2025 WITHOUT dr Luke. Don’t give them any reason to cancel. Like I know it’s not fair some get a free pass for working with dr Luke. Hmmm I still think Katy would have done better with her comeback if she went pop country
They don’t get a free pass. They’ve gotten intense hatred, too. Those who are forced to work with him have still gotten hate for it. Katy’s getting it, because she stopped working with him for years and admitted in her deposition that she did so at the time because it would have looked bad. Now, she goes running back to Dr. Luke, doesn’t give a REAL answer as to why (she deflected to talking about how she created organs and motherhood lol), and doubles down on working with him, only to get all defensive about it at the VMAs in that weird acceptance speech.
I’m sick to see all these fake ass media is trying to sabotage Katy’s career. 143 is a descent fun pop record. It mean to be has some Y2K throw back elements in it. I don’t understand why everyone is taking a dump on it. No matter what you haters say, it won’t destroy Katy’s legacy
