Shawn Mendes fans will have a wait a little while longer for his new self-titled album.
For, the Pop pin-up has announced that he’s delaying the release of ‘Shawn’ for creative reasons.
Full story below…
Taking to Twitter/X, Mendes confirmed that the album will not be released on October 18 – as previously announced.
Instead, the set will land a month later on November 15.
Explaining the postponement, he wrote:
“Hey guys ♥️ My team and I have decided to push the album release date to November 15th. We just need a little bit more time to bring some new inspiration and ideas to life ♥️ I love you guys thank you for being so patient, I can’t wait to see you guys at the next few shows x”
The project is preceded by singles ‘Why Why Why’ and ‘Isn’t That Enough’ – neither of which have set the charts ablaze.
Indeed, ‘Why’ peaked at #84 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ‘Enough’ has yet to impact the coveted count at all.
Suffice it to say, it has many wondering whether the delay is about “new inspiration” or the need to tee up a fresh hit fast.
ie: they can’t get a hit lol
