The beloved hitmaker, who crafted classics for the likes of Michael Jackson (‘Thriller’) and Frank Sinatra, was 91.
Jones’ passing was announced by his rep, Arnold Robinson. Speaking on behalf of his family, the statement read:
“Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.
He is truly one of a kind and we will miss him dearly; we take comfort and immense pride in knowing that the love and joy, that were the essence of his being, was shared with the world through all that he created. Through his music and his boundless love, Quincy Jones’ heart will beat for eternity.”
Jones’ career spanned more than 70 years and saw him net 30 GRAMMYs.
A prolific music maestro, his legacy and contributions will continue to live on and inspire.

My God give peace and understanding to the Jones family and extended family and friends. He will truly be missed. I grew up listening to his music and documentaries.
The words legend and icon get thrown around a lot these days, but Quincy was the actual definition of what an ICONIC LEGEND is. His contributions to black film, music, arts and entertainment will live far beyond his 91 years. He raised a standard and has left an imprint that will be hard to reach or replicate, muchness exceed. May he RIP!
