Shocker! Drake Files Legal Petition Against Universal Music & Spotify for “Scheme” to Inflate Kendrick Lamar Diss ‘Not Like Us’

Published: Monday 25th Nov 2024 by Sam

In a shocking move, Drake has filed a pre-litigation petition against Universal Music and Spotify for allegedly launching a “scheme” to inflate the popularity of Kendrick Lamar‘s diss track against him, ‘Not Like Us.’

Full story below…

Billboard reports that the filing was made today (November 25) in a Manhattan court by Drake’s Frozen Moments LLC company.

It accuses Universal Music Group (UMG) of launching an illegal “scheme” involving payola, bots, and other methods to pump up Lamar’s chart-topping smash.

Attorneys for the performer wrote:

“UMG did not rely on chance, or even ordinary business practices. It instead launched a campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves.”

Interestingly, Drake is signed to UMG and has been for the length of his spell in the spotlight. He first released by way of a joint pact with Young Money and eventually directly via Republic Records.

Lamar is also a UMG act, releasing via its Interscope imprint and his own pgLang label.

The stunning development comes as K. Dot eyes the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘squabble up’ and the Billboard 200 top spot with his surprise album ‘GNX.’

During their lyrical spar, both artists locked horns with multiple diss cuts aimed at each other.

Lamar, however, was widely seen as landing the definitive  TKO with ‘Not Like Us.’

As such, today’s course of action will no doubt ignite a whole new layer of discourse around the beef.

But I thought he said “a cease and desist is for h***” oh Aubrey! He’s rlly a white boy at heart. That L did irreversible damage to him.

This confirmed that this sh!t is keeping him up at night. Mind you Drake and Taylor are the king and queen of abusing Spotify’s playlisting.

Which album release was it where Spotify was recommending Drake songs in EVERY damn playlist when it dropped? Was it Veiws? I cannot remember, but I doubt it stopped there.

Point is, Drake should really knock this sh!t off because nobody has gamed the system more than him. This is fµck!ng ridiculous.

I remember when a lot of people unsubscribed from Spotify when they made Drake the face of every single playlist. I think this was when he dropped Scorpion

Hate doesn’t look good on him. He had his run and no one tried to discredit him, despite the fact that he’s a fraudulent culture vulture.
