November 2024 has been especially good to Sexyy Red!
As if earning her first-ever top 10 hit on the Hot 100 wasn’t enough to boast, days later the Rap diva learned her breakout mixtape, ‘Hood Hottest Princess,’ had crossed the threshold for Gold certification at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
For context, the measure denotes sales of 500,000 in the United States.
This week brought with it even more good news for Red as she find herself penciled into the Hot 100’s top 20 yet again thanks to the GloRilla-led smash ‘Whatchu Kno About Me.’
A month after making a handsome debut on the Hot 100, ‘Whatchu’ was lifted to a new peak on the tally.
Here are the numbers that powered the ‘Wipe Me Down’-sampling cut’s placement at #17 this week.
- Streaming ≈ 15.2 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales ≈ 2,000 digital downloads
- Radio airplay ≈ 15.3 million audience impressions
The success of ‘Whatchu’ has been greatly fueled by its popularity on social media and a viral dance attached to its chorus – a status that helped propel it atop Billboard’s Tik Tok 50 this week.
Coming as both acts’ third top 20 hit of the year, Glo sees ‘Whatchu’ follow the #11-peaking ‘Wanna Be‘ and the #10-peaking ‘Sticky.’ It’s her fourth top 20 hit overall.
For Sexyy, on the other hand, the ‘Glorious‘ single follows ‘Sticky’ and her solo megahit ‘Get It Sexyy.’ Like GloRilla, ‘Whatchu’ is the fourth top 20 hit of her career as well.
The updated chart comes just weeks after the dynamic duo teased a joint album.
Until we get official news on that project, look below to see who joins Glo and Sexyy in this week’s TGJ Chart Check: Hot 100 edition.
