The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled the nominees for its official Class of 2025 and it’s stacked with some of music’s biggest names – including Mariah Carey and Outkast.

Moments ago, the following fourteen names were confirmed as the official shortlist for potential induction into the coveted Hall:
Mariah Carey, Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Maná, Oasis, Outkast, Phish, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes.
While some stars, such as Carey, have been nominated before, it marks the first shortlisting for Outkast and seven other nominees.
For the 1200+ voting panel, the criteria for nomination and induction “include an artist’s impact on other musicians, the scope and longevity of their career and body of work, as well as their innovation and excellence in style and technique.”
Honorees will be unveiled in April, with the annual induction ceremony set to take place in LA in the Fall.
Serving as one of the most coveted salutes in music, previous inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame include Michael Jackson, Madonna, Jay-Z, Prince, and Whitney Houston.
