It’s been weeks since Muni Long stormed the stage of the iHeartRadio Music Awards to tribute Mariah Carey, but critics are still weighing in on the performance – ongoing chatter the ‘Made for Me‘ hitmaker made time to address over the weekend during Billboard’s 2025 Women in Music ceremony.

As reported here, Long was among the big names set to be honored at Saturday’s Women in Music event (March 29).
While working the evening’s red carpet, Muni – on hand to accept the year’s Rising Star Award – was quizzed by our friends at ‘Entertainment Tonight (ET)’ about the mixed reviews she received for her ‘We Belong Together‘ performance at the iHeartRadio Awards earlier this month.
“All the coverage that it got – good, bad, or whatever – I know that she was really, really happy and that’s all that matters,” she told resident anchor Cassie DiLaura.
The sentiment echoes a previous statement from Muni where she addressed the haters head-on.
“Nobody can sing Mariah’s songs like Mariah. Nobody. I did my best, and that’s all I can do,” she said in a video shared to social media. “[Mariah] told me I did a great job, she appreciated it. And that’s it.”

C’mon Muni, where’s your next project?
Mimi looked annoyed with Tori, tho! Couldn’t hide it.
