It’s just a damn good week to be Ciara.
When not raking in praise from Coachella viewers who are still raving about her weekend performance with Megan Thee Stallion (April 13), the GRAMMY-winning songstress is seeing her latest single ‘Ecstasy‘ blow up on social media thanks to the popular “defying gravity” challenge.
The increased spotlight on all-things Ciara over the last week (which includes a stunning appearance in ‘L’Officiel‘) has spelled for a handsome opening on the Billboard charts for the April 4-released track.
Details inside.
‘Ecstasy’ – the latest single from Ciara’s July 11-due new album ‘CiCi‘ – seems poised to see its positive critical acclaim matched by its growing commercial response.
Proof of this comes courtesy of Billboard’s updated R&B Digital Song Sales tally which sees the 39-year-old printed at #3 with Leather Jackettt-produced slow jam – the highest rung any previously uncharted song reached on this week’s edition of this chart.
When eventually coupled with streams and radio airplay, the handsome sales – if sustained – could lead Ciara to crack the Hot 100 on a future iteration of the hitlist. If achieved, ‘Ecstasy’ would shine as the R&B diva’s first Hot 100-charting hit since 2018’s ‘Level Up.’
Until we find out if the ‘CiCi’ track will level up into next week’s Pop chart, look below to see who made the cut for this week’s TGJ Chart Check: Hot 100 edition.

On a bedroom playlist Nobody Can Sing and dance a slow and sultry song like Ciara
and Ecstasy proves that
Janet, Mya does it better. Ciara can’t actually sing and her dancing is slowing down. Janet is still hitting her marks.
