Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s daughter Monroe is stepping into her voice and clearing the air while she’s at it. The 14-year-old took to Instagram Stories to set the record straight on her family tree.

In the post, Monroe stresses that her only full sibling is her twin brother, Moroccan, while the rest of Cannon’s ever-growing family are much younger half-siblings. She wrote:
“Clearing something up guys! i only have ONE brother who is @moroccan.cannon. I do have other half-siblings from my dad but they are all many many years younger than me!”
Carey and Cannon, who married in a secret 2008 ceremony and welcomed their twins in 2011, have navigated co-parenting since their split. And with the ‘Wild ‘n Out’ creator becoming a father many times over in the years since, Monroe’s calm clarification shows wisdom that mirrors what her dance once praised, when he previously told PEOPLE that:
“My daughter, really, she’s so in tune and in line and wise beyond her years.”
Meanwhile, the ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ mega hitmaker recently kept things coy when asked about their co-parenting dynamic, dodging the question by saying:
“I kind of feel like it’s best if I don’t talk about him because he can just be in his own world…no offense to him.”
