Teyana Taylor is adding yet another accolade to an already blockbuster year.
The multi-hyphenate star has been named the recipient of the Icon of the Year Award at the upcoming BET Awards 2026, where she will be recognized for her impact across music, film, fashion, and culture.
The honor arrives amid one of the most celebrated chapters of the Harlem native’s career, with major acting wins, critical acclaim, and continued success as a creative force both in front of and behind the camera.

Organizers announced the news moments ago, confirming that Taylor will receive the distinction during the June 28 ceremony at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater.
Connie Orlando, EVP, Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy, BET, said in a statement:
“Teyana Taylor is the embodiment of what it means to be an icon in this moment. She doesn’t ask for a seat at the table; she builds the table, designs the rooms, and sets the tone for everyone who walks in. Her fingerprints are all over culture, and it is an honor to celebrate everything she represents on Culture’s Biggest Night.”
The recognition caps off a remarkable run for the entertainer, who nabbed a Golden Globe for her role in ‘One Battle After Another.’
