Harry Styles is getting candid about the almost “godlike” position he occupies when performing for thousands of fans.
The 32-year-old singer has reflected on fame, perception, and the surreal divide between the superstar audiences see onstage and the person he becomes once the lights go down.

In a new interview with W Magazine, Styles opened up about the unique power that comes with commanding a stage.
“We, as the crew and the band, get to create an environment for people to have this joyous time. But we’re all there for the same thing. If you’re onstage, it’s a very godlike position.”
Styles stressed that he is not asking fans to simply follow him, but instead sharing something he believes in alongside them.
Still, the singer has developed a very literal way of shedding that larger-than-life persona once a show is over.
“When I come offstage, the first thing I do is shower, because it’s better for me to feel like I washed it off.”
He described what follows as a return to an almost completely vulnerable state.
“Over the years, I’ve tried to acknowledge that is that and I can wash it off. You do the show, you go backstage, you shower, and all of a sudden you’re naked in this most vulnerable, almost infant-like state of yourself.”
As for scrolling through online comments after all of that? Styles was considerably more concise: “It’s death!”
The revealing conversation arrives as Styles continues his ‘Together, Together’ tour, which supports his fourth studio album, ‘Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.’
